Returning to the Fertility of Northern New South Wales

It is always such a contrast to return to the beauty of the Arizona desert after such a lush and very wet Journey to Australia (OZ).

I love returning to Australia, my original home. This journey roamed through wildly different landscapes and had 5 LIVE screenings of the Pussy Talks!

My journey began in the steamy sub-tropics of Northern New South Wales (NSW) and the most easterly point of OZ, Byron Bay.

From many viewing points the sacred mountain Wollumbin can be seen. The highest easterly point, it is the ancient eroded plug of the largest volcano that existed in Australia.

The massive flows of magma create such a fertile and abundant subtropical landscape. Life, rain forest and wildlife is thriving here. I also lived here in a rustic hut in the bush for 8 years, before my 1985 departure to the ashram life in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Extraordinary beaches, wild weather and surf. I so love dawn walks on Angel’s beach – the “scene” shifting from moment to moment. Always new. Always a surprise. High tide, low tide, clouds drifting, clear blue sky, infinite patterns from wind, water, and mysterious creatures. Just as life itself is for all of us.

The moment-to-moment shifts of the ocean so embodies the Universal Creative force of all creation… The Pussy space of Creation that we women embody… The Primal force.

What are LIVE Screenings Like?

Every screening of The Pussy Talks was met with awe, wonder, appreciation, revelation, illumination and more. It can be summed up by these two comments by viewers—

“Thank you and gratitude for sharing these insights to me as a man. I learned a lot that has never been expressed. Thank you.”

“I was profoundly amazed and enlightened by the honesty, variety and beauty this documentary has shown me. I could relate to so many stories! It has opened a new side of my pussy to me. I’m excited!”

I love presenting at the live screenings, telling the story of how the whole idea for the documentary arose, what inspired me in 1998, how I made the film, and who all the women are. As an artist, there is no better gift than sharing my art.

The conversation with the audience after watching the film together is always rich: Questions, answers, comments. Every audience has some common themes and unique ones too. More about that in the future. The bottom line is – it’s a life changer. Download the LIVE screening checklist here.

Mothers & Daughters Screening the Film Together

This trip the first screening was on a Sunday evening in a private home in Brisbane. The audience included two young women who attended with their mothers.

So many parents who view The Pussy Talks say that it should be available to all young people in schools. I know for sure that in the future there will be a documentary that is well-suited for young people. (I just need more people who really really care about real sex education for young people to be on the Pussy Talks team to help create and share the film.)

Imagine receiving proper education in that most important transition from a young girl or a young boy to a young woman or young man.

At the end of the evening both young women shared about their personal experience of a family honoring and celebrating their transition. It was clear that they both had an extraordinary intimate and supportive relationship with their parents.

What beautiful, articulate young women, so confident in their sharing of the impact of being celebrated!

Expanding the Library of The Pussy Talks with New Filmings

The next night was a screening in Byron Bay at Red Tent Yoga. Such a rich conversation was generated by the viewers. That’s why I love the live screenings. Great questions, great sharing by the audience of the impact of viewing together and profound gratitude.

The Pussy Talks is now an ongoing ever growing Video Library of Talks. Women are now approaching me to add their Pussy Talks to the collection after viewing the documentary. Quite a number want to do be filmed to get connected to their Pussy, to have the experience of being witnessed in their sharing.

Many women and men signed up to be filmed in Byron Bay!

You see all this arose simply by giving each woman a space to say whatever it is she wanted to say. Women are so eager to share their pussy and how they relate to them. It’s almost like the words, the message, has been so wanting to come out.

Comments & Curious Questions

Sometimes after viewing, comments arise along these lines:

  • I have never heard women speak like this. Why are they so positive? How did they get to be like that?
  • What about their whole history?
  • Why are so many pussies bald?
  • Why is there so much pubic hair?
  • Why didn’t they talk about children?
  • Why didn’t they talk about their ovaries?
  • Who are they?
  • How come they didn’t get to explore their pussy until later in life? Is it a generational thing?
  • What else did they say?

And so much more! It’s pretty exciting responding to all this in a way that opens and expands the educational territory even more. I love it!

For men and women to view it together is also a profound experience. Men hear some of the common themes throughout the film and women hear the awe and respect voiced by men after viewing. This is always a special moment every time.

Surprises in Screenings

The third screening took place in the heart of Sydney at the Leela Center. It was a super rainy steamy night. It was a great audience including a number of members of the Sydney Orgasmic Meditation community. One gentleman who attended from the Human Awareness Community (HAI) immediately recommended a screening in Melbourne via his community. The evening completed with honest intimate sharing — conversation and connection.

After a couple of days of R and R in Melbourne, I was off to Canberra, ACT (Australian Capital Territory) — the OZ version of Washington, D.C.

I had a surprise spontaneous screening after midnight at Smith’s “Bookstore”. The Pussy Talks received great appreciation by an almost all male audience, all 8 of them. It was late!

The final screening on this journey was scheduled at Byron Bay Red Tent Yoga again. Who knew the biggest floods for 40 years in Northern New South Wales would occur that night? Many ticket holders were flooded in, river and creek crossings became raging torrents and the town of Murwillumbah, and the city of Lismore completely underwater.
